New Joe Media Series Hooks-Up Celebrities With Nature
(Calgary – June 25, 2010) Joe Media Group is about to embark on another wilderness adventure with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), as principle photography is set to begin in July on a new series entitled The Hook Up.
In each episode of The Hook Up, Aboriginal Outdoor and Fishing Guide Brenda Holder teams up with a well-known, city-dwelling personality, challenging them to survive, harvest and cook off the water and land, and to discover how they “fit” within the natural wilds of Canada. It’s the world’s ultimate outdoor expedition with one of Canada’s greatest Aboriginal guides in a mystical setting that encounters fish and wildlife, pristine waterways, through interaction with Aboriginal peoples and other culturally diverse Canadians.
Brenda’s guests will not only be challenged to gain a newfound connection to their surrounding environment but they also must catch a fish and cook it. The Hook Up cultivates the ongoing tradition of shared knowledge from Aboriginal peoples and also from our guest who provides insights into their own unique cultural lineage.
The Hook Up is a coproduction between Joe Media Group and Jet Music Inc., in association with APTN, and with assistance from the Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund, and the Alberta Film Development Program.
Principal photography begins July 5th 2010 in Kananaskis for delivery to APTN in the fall, under the guidance of Producer/Writer Neil Grahn, Director James Thalheimer, and Aboriginal Fishing Guide Brenda Holder. Special Guests include, Actress and Recording Artist, Andrea Menard (Rabbit Fall), Actor Bronson Pelletier (Twilight), and Musician Jason McCoy (The Road Hammers).
